Tell me if this sounds familiar…

You love being in community and do your best to support the people around you.You dream of a world where everyone has what they need to thrive, and you go out of your way for your community. As you try to make that world a reality, you keep running into the same obstacles - needing to be vulnerable and share a difficult truth with someone, but being afraid you’ll lose the relationship or that they will not show up for you in the way you need or that they’ll see you as a burden. And to cope with this underlying fear, you minimize yourself and your needs. You overextend yourself, and agree to do more than what you possibly can. You ignore the signs of your discomfort or make excuses for why your needs aren’t important. You are not alone in this experience. Our hyper-independent, survival-based culture limits our capacity for connection by teaching us that we are not worthy or enough, and that our desires are always just out of reach. This is especially true for those of us who hold marginalized identities.Loving practice teaches us to approach relationships practically and consider how we show up for people and what we need from them. Our dream world is made real through our relationships, and all it requires is consistent, intentional, and loving action.

You are...

  • an educator, mentor, or facilitator

  • an organizer, activist, movement worker, or change-maker

  • a (recovering) people-pleaser

  • a (recovering) busy person

  • a spiritualist

  • a dreamer

  • a “do-it-yourself”-er

Who wants to...

  • help others build connection and belonging in their communities

  • manage your capacity so that you can sustainably show up for others

  • learn how to identify your own wants and needs, and build the courage to ask for them to be met

  • make time to meaningfully connect with your loved ones

  • deepen your connection with Spirit, Source, Ancestors, etc..

  • integrate the radical vision for how you want to show up in the world with the reality of surviving heteronormative patriarchal capitalism

  • invite others into your healing journey

Please note you don't need to hold all those identities or want all these goals, but you do need identify as a person of color and LGBTQIA2S+ to join our community.

What’s possible through loving practice:

Being able to navigate conflict and tension because you know how to assess your needs and clearly communicate them.Having a network of people to turn to who know you well enough to offer the care you’re looking for in times of need.Having the energy to generously show up for others because you regularly check in with yourself around your capacity.Feeling confident in the decisions you make about your life, because you know they come from your inner source of truth, and not an idea of what you “should” be doing.Creating an environment where you and the people connected to you are safe, joyous, cared for, and well-resourced.And the list goes on...

Our community believes:

  • It is through our relationships that our dream world is made real.

  • Every type of relationship (romantic, platonic, familial, spiritual, professional, etc.) is important and requires attention, intention, and commitment to be sustained.

  • Love is an embodied experience where one expresses care and consideration for others, and it’s a skill to learn and practice.

  • Interdependence is necessary for our survival.

  • We are each worthy of having the depth of connection we desire.

  • The work we do at the personal and interpersonal level has the potential to transform entire communities.
